1990s: Small Farm Beginnings

The business was started in the 1990s as a small farm with 250 broiler chickens by Mr. A. S. M. Mukthar and his father, Mr. Abdul Samad.
In 2000, Mr. Mukthar joined forces with his father to further expand the business. By 2005, the business grew into a layer farm housing around 1,000 birds.
A layer farm capable of housing 5,000 birds was started in Nikaweratiya, alongside a broiler farm established in Aulegama.




Technology & Registration
Hammaliyawatta & Moragolla Operations
Business operations expanded in 2011 by acquiring land in Hammaliyawatta. By 2015, two broiler closed houses capable of housing 12,500 birds each were established at Hammaliyawatta, and an animal feed and raw material outlet was opened in Moragolla, Kobeigane.
Capacity Doubling & Registration
In 2017, two additional broiler closed houses, each capable of housing 25,000 birds, were constructed at Hammaliyawatta. In 2020, the company was officially registered as Milan Farm House (Pvt) Ltd.
Importation & Feed Products
In 2024, beyond producing animal feed, the business expanded into distribution and importing key raw materials such as corn, soy, meat meal, and bakery meal. We manufacture feeds formulated specifically for broiler and layer nutrition under the Grow Maxx Feed brand.
